I love visiting Haeundae every time I go to Busan. It's amazing that you can have both a city and beach feel in one.
My friend came down from Seoul for the weekend and has never visited Haeundae so it was great opportunity to show him around and spend the weekend at the beach.
Haeundae beach is the largest and most famous beach in the country and being situated in the second largest city in Korea, Busan's eastern district Haeundae
Is known as the main tourist attraction of the city.
It is said that September towards the end of summer is the best time to enjoy the beach with moderate crowds while August explodes with numbers up to 700,000 people!!
On August 2nd 2008 Haeundae beach made an Official Record for the Guinness Book of Records for having the most parasols on the beach with no spaces in between at all!
You can take a walk across the beach front where there are endless cafe's, pubs, restaurants and luxurious hotels.
Haeundae beach is also famous for the various cultural events and festivals throughout the year, you will also see the beach cultural centre and even a beach library!
I usually travel into Haeundae from central Busan via metro line 2. This is probably the easiest way to get to Haeundae.
By taxi it will cost between ₩7,000 to ₩15,000.
