Me and my best friend Taehyun had spent the in tire day walking the trail up into the mountains to Beoseoma Temple and had surely worked up an appetite by dinner time!
Eating galbi together is something me and Taehyun always do together when I visit Korea.
Galbi generally refers to the variety of grilled dishes in Korean cuisine and as we all know Korea is hugely famous for its grilled BBQ'S!
I'm extremely fussy when it comes to meat and back in the U.K I don't eat any other meat other than chicken breast. For me the taste and the texture is something I don't like so I don't enjoy eating it.
Its no surprise that when I'm in Korea my first choice would always be to eat chicken galbi.
.
...However.........In Korea I love the taste of beef!
As weird as it sounds I love the taste and the texture is much tender!
Korean meat is marinated in a sauce made primarily from soy sauce and garlic and is cooked right on grills set in the tables.
It is typically served with lettuce or other leafy vegetables used to wrap the meat, which is then dipped in ssangjang (쌈장), a sauce made of fermented bean paste and red pepper paste. It is often served with side dishes known as Banchan.
